Data scientist in the making — mathematics graduate who builds real systems, now looking for a production-scale role
I'm 24, based in Izmir, and I just finished a mathematics degree at Ege University — a CS-weighted programme I graduated from fourth in my department with a 3.44 GPA (2021–2026). Maths is the training; building working systems is what I actually do with it: a thesis pipeline that caught its own data leakage, a constraint-programming shift solver my ZARA section runs on daily, and a run of hackathon and competition projects that taught me more by failing than by winning.
None of that happened in a quiet study. I put myself through university working part-time at ZARA (Inditex) and moved to full-time the moment I graduated — running the shop floor and the coursework at the same time for years. In parallel I led a team at Teknofest, shipped side projects, and took a volunteer internship at Bluesense AI. Doing the degree, the retail job and the building all at once is where I learned to adapt fast, absorb a new domain quickly, and belong to a team rather than just occupy a seat on it.
That mix left me with a few things I'd list on a job application without flinching: learning agility, comfort leading under a deadline (Teknofest team lead), the corporate discipline of a large organisation like Inditex, and a genuine sense of belonging to whatever I'm building. I'm now looking for a production-scale AI / data-science role where I can put that to work full-time.
I'm not someone who already knows everything — I'm eager to learn and I stay teachable on purpose. I'm the person who reads the error message, checks the source, and ships the honest version: a perfect score is a red flag, and an unverified number never leaves my notebook.
A perfect score is a red flag.A perfect score is a red flag.

Plan weekly shifts for a 150-person store through Orquest, balancing coverage against hourly traffic.
Coach teammates on the floor and run onboarding and training sessions for large new-starter groups.
Built PUSULA (hackathon) and the Shift Solver my section runs on daily — both grown out of this floor experience.

Bluesense AI—AI / Software Engineering Intern
Built HRV/ECG signal-processing pipelines in Python for physiological-signal analysis.
Integrated Hugging Face face-analysis models into a skin-analysis feature, tuning the accuracy-vs-latency tradeoff so the model was usable in-app, not just accurate offline.
Took part in the team's CI/CD workflow — a startup backed by SFU VentureLabs, Mitacs Accelerate, i2I, Microsoft, İTÜ Çekirdek and AWS.
